We are seeking Project Managers of all levels that demonstrate a passion to work collaboratively with our client teams to deliver their complex projects to time, cost, and quality with a commitment to safety.

 

About the business unit  
The Buildings and Cities Unit (BNC) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key Sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. We also provide local services to customers and technical leadership to the rest of the Group in these sectors.  

 

About the team
Our portfolio of Buildings and Cities projects offers an extensive range of project management capabilities to our buildings, energy, water, defence, and infrastructure clients, offering applicants exposure to interesting and complex technical projects. 

 

We are interested in speaking with Project Management professionals with multi-sector experience. Coming from a technical background (Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical considered) you will have developed your skillset into project management and/or managing various engineering projects and staff.

 

What you will contribute to the team:

  • Ownership of and responsibility for the successful delivery of your technical projects
  • Preparing and maintaining schedules, including dependencies and resources
  • Identifying and monitoring project risks and opportunities
  • Quality management processes for project activities and outputs
  • Managing stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests
  • Establishing and maintaining project governance reviews
  • Developing and managing teams
  • Managing subconsultants


Candidate Specification

 

Essential for the position of Project Manager:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering/technical subject 
  • Chartered Engineer (or with equivalent experience)
  • Proven track record working at design stages of large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and/or access to a car
  • Hold BPSS security clearance or higher (or happy and eligible to undergo this)
  • Flexibility to travel and work in different technical sectors and with different clients


Desirable:

  • Proven track record working on multi-disciplined construction or engineering projects.
  • Good analytical thinking and research skills;
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills and ability to continue to completion existing projects and initiatives;
  • Soft skills include self-motivation; taking initiative; leadership, adaptability and flexibility; effective listening, collaboration; influence and persuasion, insightfulness; and
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft applications
