About the business unit 

The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally. 

 

Overview of role

 

We – the Energy Unit, specifically the Power, Process & Nuclear division are looking to recruit a Principal Digital Solution Architect to join our team.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team with plenty of opportunities for career progression.

The role will involve the following responsibilities in general:

  • Advising on the implementation and automation of a data-centric model-based systems engineering process,  
  • Assisting project teams in the rollout of collaborative digital systems and optimisation of workflows within Mott. 
  • Taking a lead role in the identification of stakeholders, capture, deconfliction and integration of their digital user stories and use cases 
  • Taking a key role in the development (conceptualise) and refinement (detail logic) of scalable enterprise-level solutions 
  • Taking a key role in development of goal and user focussed holistic and integrated business cases (i.e. make vs buy) 
  • Contribute to special interest groups at Mott, bringing the latest technology trends and innovations, additionally applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage 

Technical functions:   

  • Work with the MBSE Transformation SME lead to design and implement sophisticated parametric objects, data structures, incorporating relationships and behaviours into system models; also ensuring appropriate integration with other (relevant) models such as data models, operational models. 
  •  Lead deployment, verification and validation activities, identify and resolve technical and workflow design issues. 
  • Advise on the deployment and effective use of Building Information Modelling technologies to improve project visualisation, coordination, and execution.

 

Candidate Specification: 

  • Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE):
  1. Advising on the implementation and automation of data-centric MBSE processes. 
  2. Familiarity with parametric objects, system models, and relationships. 
  • Have worked with collaborative Digital Systems and Workflow Optimization.
  1. Assisting project teams in deploying collaborative digital systems. 
  2. Experience in Stakeholder Engagement and Integration: 
  • Identifying stakeholders. 
  1. Integrating digital user stories and use cases. 
  2. Provided Scalable Enterprise-Level solutions in past : 
  • Conceptualizing and refining scalable solutions. 
  1. Holistic business case development (make vs. buy decisions). 
  • Involved in technology Trends and Continuous Improvement: 
  1. Contributing to special interest groups. 
  2. Applying technology trends for competitive advantage. 
  • In past worked on Building Information Modelling (BIM) Technologies: 
  1. Advising on BIM deployment for project visualization and coordination.
