About the business unit:
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.

 

About the role:
As a Senior Energy Wind Yield Analyst you will work with our global Renewables team dedicated to providing consultancy services for a variety of clients to include developers, lenders, investors and other project stakeholders. This is a client facing role that would suit a highly numerate individual with a diverse set of skills and the initiative to rise to a challenge. As part of your day to day duties you will be reviewing and undertaking the analysis of wind data to predict the energy output of potential wind farm projects as well as reviewing third party reports for due diligence assignments.  


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Management of projects and budgets
  • Client interfacing and relationship management
  • Due diligence with in-depth review of third party analysis reports
  • Mentoring and feedback to junior team members
  • Review of internal assessments and reports following detailed approval procedures
  • Analysis and interpretation of measured wind data
  • Modelling of wind flow using linear and non-linear wind flow models
  • Calculation of energy yield assessment and technical losses
  • Site compliance analysis according to IEC standards
  • Written and verbal communication of technical detail to a non-technical audience
  • Feasibility study report preparation
  • Tender documents preparation, bids evaluation, contractual negotiations
  • Awareness of the market and on-going innovation in technology and research

 

About you:

  • Masters degree in engineering or relevant science subject
  • Experience working in an engineering consultancy
  • Experience in pre-construction and operational energy yield assessments for onshore and offshore wind projects
  • Experience of reviewing other people’s work
  • Knowledge of using Windographer, WindFarmer, WindPro and WASP
  • Experience conducting site classification assessments including turbulence intensity and extreme winds
  • Experience in layout optimisations
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work as part of a global team
  • Ability to write clear and precise technical reports for a non-technical audience
