About the role:
We are hiring for one of our major buildings projects in Abu Dhabi and are looking for an Assistant Resident Architectural Engineer to join the site supervision team. The role involves monitoring and inspecting architectural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.

 

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Conduct regular site inspections in accordance with the approved ITP/ITR and Construction Programme, and prepare inspection reports accordingly
  • Observe, check, and record that all architectural works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements
  • Inspect architectural finishes including blockwork, plastering, tiling, façade works, joinery, doors and windows, waterproofing, and related works
  • Monitor contractor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with approved submittals and mock‑ups
  • Observe site safety procedures and actively monitor and report on the contractor’s safety performance, raising non‑conformance reports when required
  • Inform the Resident Engineer of any serious issues observed on site, including poor workmanship, quality concerns, safety issues, or delays
  • Provide QA/QC support to the project and ensure works comply with contractual and quality requirements
  • Actively monitor implementation of the contractor’s quality procedures and raise NCRs when required
  • Coordinate with other discipline inspectors (Structural and MEP) to ensure proper interface between works
  • Initiate and maintain good working relationships with contractors and subcontractors
  • Assist in snagging, de‑snagging, and handover inspections
  • Contribute to reports, records, and documentation as and when required

 

Candidate specifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in architectural inspection for buildings projects
  • Good knowledge of architectural construction methods, materials, and finishing works
  • Understanding of local authority regulations, building codes, and project specifications
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements related to construction projects
  • Basic knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes (QMS)
  • Competence in inspection reporting and site documentation
  • Working knowledge of basic computer programmes and databases
