About the Job:

Mott MacDonald is currently looking for a Dry Utilities Engineer for its Land Development team in Abu Dhab,to support with the technical delivery of multiple master-planning/land development projects across the
Emirate.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Prepare designs and calculations to utility authority standards

  • Preparation of electrical load calculations, load schedules, LV schedules and voltage drop calculations, cable de-rating calculations, etc.

  • Prepare designs for the following:

  • HV, MV and LV networks including the preparation of single line diagrams and layouts for infrastructure projects.

  • Telecommunication infrastructure network design and knowledge of GSM coverage requirements including preparation of layouts and coverage drawings

  • Street lighting network design including preparation of single line diagrams, layouts and Voltage drop calculations

  • Street lighting for tunnels/underpasses

  • Prepare lux calculations (DiaLux software) for street lighting

  • Seek the optimal solution from internal and external sources for any design-related issues.

  • Outline cost and quantity estimation for dry services.

  • Conduct a technical review for progress reporting.

  • Liaising/meeting with developers, clients or stakeholders to update on progress.

  • Provide any reports update to the projects design managers and project managers including clients when needed.

  • Coordinate aspects of projects submittal and deliverables, reviews and approvals against contract requirements, report and advise on deviations from the same.

  • Assist in providing design, reports, and liaison role for all disciplines/departments.

  • Assist the Manager/Senior Engineers or Designates in work coordination with other Mott MacDonald teams.

  • Assist in providing marketing support to the team with current and future clients.

 

Candidate Requirements: 

  • Minimum Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering (or any relevant discipline); progressing towards Professional Registration (CEng or similar) with membership in a professional institution ·

  • Design of electrical systems using Civil3D ·

  • Experience and skills including ProjectWise, Infraworks, Navisworks, Openutilities etc ·

  • Ability to manage a design and approval process interfacing with the project team, Clients and Stakeholders ·

  • Sound knowledge of local authority and standards mainly (DPM/UPC, ADDC, TRANSCO, DoE/ ADWEA, ETISALAT, DU, RSB, ADM, DEWA, RTA, DM) ·

  • In-depth understanding of Abu Dhabi Authority Guidelines is a must ·

  • Experienced in BIM ·

  • In-depth understanding of relevant software is a must ·

  • Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects ·

  • Understanding of the requirements for primary substations, pocket substations and feeder pillars as part of the design ·

  • Telecommunication infrastructure Network Design and knowledge of GSM coverage requirements ·

  • Well-versed with Abu Dhabi standards and requirements
