About the Role: 

A Waste Management Consultant is required to work in a busy environmental consultancy team serving our various sectors. Our work is highly varied providing services including policy development,  environmental due diligence, permitting and environmental management. We are looking for a competent waste management consultant with technical experience to support with the delivery of existing technical and advisory services to current and prospective clients in the region.   
  
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:  

  • Deliver technical services in waste management solutions development, procurement, and operations to support clients in built environment, advisory, energy, water sectors.
  • Work with sustainability, climate, environmental practitioners to provide a comprehensive offering.
  • Advise on waste characterization, management, production, treatment, storage, disposal of waste.  
  • Produce technical reports such as waste strategies, management plans, BAT studies .
  • Produce waste sections in wider environmental reports (e.g. ESIA, ESDD and scoping reports).
  • Support for the development of new business leads and sales opportunities.
  • Lead/support on bids regarding waste management and environmental management as required.
  • Potential for travel internationally for internal and external meetings, and site visits.

 

Candidate Specification: 

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant environmental degree, engineering disciplines are also welcome.    
  • Competent in the development of waste management technical calculations, strategy development and waste characterization analysis and knowledge of latest waste technologies.  
  • Good working knowledge of Middle East legislation, policy, regulatory guidance and best practice relating to waste management and environmental management is preferable.  
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of technical staff and/or partner companies/regulators. 
  • Knowledge of permitting processes and requirements for waste disposal, storage, treatment. 
  • Ability to network across market and develop new client opportunities and relationships.
  • Good communication skills for client facing interaction as well as with colleagues of various levels and disciplines. 
  • Project management and delivery experience.  
  • Knowledge of wider sustainability/climate change/environment disciplines is desirable.
