The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Security Officer to join our Adelaide team, supporting the National Security Officer in maintaining and enhancing Mott MacDonald's security framework in accordance with Australian Government protective security requirements, contractual security obligations and company policies.
The role is responsible for assisting with personnel, physical, information and cyber security governance activities, supporting security compliance programs, administering security clearances, coordinating security awareness initiatives, and helping ensure the organisation maintains a strong security culture across defence-related projects and operations.
Depending on your specific experience, your responsibilities may include:

Supporting the implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures and practices aligned with Defence and Australian Government security requirements.

Assisting with compliance activities associated with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Defence security obligations.

Supporting internal security audits, inspections and assurance activities.

Maintaining security records, registers and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Monitoring security-related actions and ensure timely closure of identified issues.

Assisting with the administration of Defence Common Access Card (DCAC) applications

Supporting compliance with information security requirements relating to Defence contracts and projects.
About You
You are a highly organised and detail-oriented project professional with experience supporting project, programme or PMO functions within complex environments. You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders, managing competing priorities and ensuring governance processes are maintained to a high standard.
As a key member of the team, you will bring:

Eligibility to obtain and maintain NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance.

Relevant qualification in security, risk management, business administration, government security or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience working within a security, defence, government or regulated environment.

Understanding of Australian Government security frameworks and security governance principles.
Desirable Experience

Experience supporting Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) requirements.

Familiarity with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).

Experience administering personnel security clearances.

Knowledge of information security and physical security practices.
