The Opportunity

With a strong pipeline of transport infrastructure projects across South Australia, Australia and internationally, we are seeking a talented Senior or Principal Engineer to join our dynamic Bridges and Civil Structures team in Adelaide.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex and challenging bridge and civil infrastructure projects while working alongside some of the industry's most respected engineers.

You will contribute to projects from concept through to detailed design and construction, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and government clients to develop innovative solutions that leave a lasting legacy for communities.

Our work spans major road, rail and active transport infrastructure, including some of Australia's most significant transport programs.

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 You will have the opportunity to:    

  • Lead the design, technical delivery and review of bridge and civil structures projects.
  • Deliver innovative engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with relevant Australian and international standards.
  • Prepare and review high-quality calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Australia and our global business to deliver integrated project outcomes.
  • Provide technical leadership and influence design decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support project management activities including programme, risk and quality management.
  • Build strong client relationships and represent Mott MacDonald in technical discussions and project meetings.
  • Mentor and develop emerging engineers, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Contribute to business growth through proposal development, client engagement and thought leadership.

 

 

About You

We're looking for someone who brings a strong technical capability coupled with leadership potential and a passion for delivering exceptional infrastructure outcomes.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer, RPEQ, CPEng or equivalent professional accreditation (or be working towards it).
  • Demonstrated experience in bridge design and assessment using AS 5100.
  • Strong understanding of road and rail authority requirements and approval processes.
  • Appreciation of constructability, durability and whole-of-life asset performance.
  • Experience undertaking structural analysis using Midas Civil or equivalent software.
  • Experience delivering projects in a Design & Construct environment is desirable.
  • Experience leading structures packages within multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A passion for mentoring engineers and developing technical capability within teams.
