Job Description
- The role is to lead the implementation, management and execution of BIM at a large project level or team level.
- Evaluate and interpret the employer’s information requirements on given projects
- Design and manage the Common Data Environment (Bentley ProjectWise and Autodesk BIM360) including processes and procedures to enable reliable information exchange between Project Team Members and other parties.
- Support the IT team in the development of the CDE
- Establish, agree and implement the information structure and maintenance standards for the Information Model.
- Receive information into the Information Model in compliance with agreed processes and procedures. Validate compliance with information requirements and advise on non-compliance.
- Maintain the Information Model to meet integrity and security standards in compliance with the employer’s information requirement
- Manage Common Data Environment processes and procedures, validate compliance with them and advise on non-compliance
- Initiate, agree and implement the Project Information Plan
- Liaise with and co-operate with Project Team Members and, if required, the Employer in support of a collaborative working culture
- Assist the Project Team Members in establishing information exchange processes, including: define and agree procedures for convening, chairing, attendance and responsibility for recording “information exchange process meetings”
- Help report on progress, obstacles and issues faced by project teams to the appropriate project leadership
- Providing assistance to project teams in preparing bids with BIM requirements.
- Providing services to kick off a BIM enabled project including developing the BIM Execution Plan.
- Delivering planned consultancy works during the life of the project.
- Delivering workshops to enable the project team to collaborate.
- Defining the business requirements and associated processes to deliver BIM.
- Identifying and delivering opportunities to add value to clients through the use of BIM.
- Provide input into industry bodies regarding CAD & BIM standards.
Candidate Specification-
- Professional Membership of Engineering Council organisation preferred
- Degree related to architecture, engineering or construction desired.
- Academic and/or industry qualifications related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
- Specialist knowledge in the implementation, use and development of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Computer Aided Design (CAD) and integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
- Working knowledge of data/information exchange protocols.
- Working knowledge of relevant British and ISO industry standards.
- Working knowledge of engineering contracts.
- Knowledge of IT and network infrastructure principles.
- Knowledge of risk management principles.
- Knowledge of coding languages such as Dynamo and Python preferred
- Methodical and analytical approach to work, persistent nature and integrity for maintaining comprehensive and accurate data.
- Ability to identify the need for change, initiate and implement change.
- Ability to influence people at all levels across the organisation, to drive true change.
- Ability to effectively facilitate contractual discussions and negotiations.
- Ability to define, analyse and prioritise business and project requirements.
- Ability to directly and functionally manage embedded multidisciplinary teams.

- Ability to plan, implement and manage projects to deliver to time, budget and quality.
- Working knowledge of BIM technologies.
- Up-to-date and demonstrable knowledge of current engineering technology trends including BIM and IPD;
- Experience in understanding complex requirements from projects and interpreting them to deliver a problem definition;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write professional reports for review and consideration by senior Mott MacDonald staff.
- Experienced in leading and managing teams of at least 10-15 bim resources
- Experienced in assimilating bim strategy and providing direction to a team of Bim resources either on a large project or on a framework
- Digitally savvy with a good understanding of impact of AI on BIM and having a progressive outlook and approach to adaptation and experimentation with new technologies
