Mott MacDonald New Zealand is a dynamic engineering, management, and development consultancy working with high-profile clients across Aotearoa. We’re a proudly employee-owned business focused on improving society by considering social outcomes in everything we do.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in project coordination, project administration, or early-stage project controls who’s ready to take the next step in their career.

The role

As a Project Controller, you’ll support the successful delivery of projects by helping teams plan, track and report on performance.

You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers and other specialists to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

What you’ll do

  • Support the setup and maintenance of project schedules and budgets
  • Assist with project reporting and performance tracking
  • Monitor project progress and highlight risks or issues
  • Support cost tracking, forecasting and change management
  • Work with tools such as Excel, MS Project and Power BI
  • Collaborate with project teams and clients to support delivery outcomes

About you

  • Experience in project coordination, project administration or project controls
  • Exposure to infrastructure, engineering or consulting environments (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable working with data and reporting tools
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Motivated to build a career in project controls

Why join us

At Mott MacDonald, you’ll be trusted to do meaningful work that makes a difference.

We offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Opportunities to work on infrastructure projects that impact communities across New Zealand
  • Flexibility and a focus on wellbeing
  • Learning and development to support your career growth
