Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor NZ
Auckland, NZ
Shape the way we attract brilliant people
At Mott MacDonald, we work in an incredible global industry, delivering exciting work that is helping define the future. Our people power that performance, and our Talent Acquisition team plays a critical role in helping the business find, engage and hire the people who will make that impact possible.
We are looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor to join our New Zealand team. This is a hands-on, business-facing recruitment role where you will manage a varied portfolio of roles, partner closely with hiring managers, and help shape inclusive, effective and high-quality hiring outcomes across our business.
About the role
As Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor, you will lead end-to-end recruitment activity across an allocated portfolio, supporting leaders with attraction, selection, market insight and recruitment process expertise. You will work across a mix of technical, professional services, corporate and early careers recruitment, using your judgement and market knowledge to deliver strong hiring outcomes.
You will be a trusted advisor to hiring managers, helping them understand talent markets, define role requirements, build inclusive shortlists and make fair, evidence-based selection decisions. You will also contribute to recruitment improvement initiatives, employer branding activity, candidate experience improvements and wider people advisory support where required.
People advisory support
Alongside your Talent Acquisition portfolio, you will provide practical people advisory support to the New Zealand business, working closely with the NZ People Advisory Manager. This may include supporting employee lifecycle activity, policy and process queries, onboarding and offboarding, performance and development processes, employee relations administration, remuneration and reporting support, and wider people initiatives as required.
What you will do
- Manage end-to-end recruitment across your allocated vacancy portfolio, from briefing through to offer and onboarding support.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce plans, role requirements and critical capability gaps.
- Develop attraction strategies using advertising, sourcing, talent mapping, referrals, market research and candidate pipelining.
- Prepare and publish engaging, inclusive job advertisements that reflect Mott MacDonald’s tone of voice and employee value proposition.
- Screen applications, conduct initial candidate assessments and provide clear recommendations to hiring managers.
- Coordinate interview and assessment activity, supporting a fair, structured and positive candidate experience.
- Use LinkedIn Recruiter, recruitment systems, reporting tools and digital platforms to support sourcing, pipelining and recruitment delivery.
- Provide recruitment reporting, market insights and pipeline data to support hiring decisions and workforce planning discussions.
- Support graduate, intern and early careers recruitment programmes, including attraction campaigns and engagement activity.
- Champion inclusive recruitment practices, including diverse sourcing, inclusive advertising language and fair selection processes.
- Contribute to process, reporting, attraction and candidate experience improvements across Talent Acquisition.
- Support selected people advisory activities, including onboarding, employment documentation, leave and policy queries, performance process administration, remuneration support and HR reporting.
About you
You are an experienced recruiter who enjoys working closely with the business, building trusted relationships and delivering practical recruitment solutions. You bring sound judgement, clear communication and the confidence to advise, challenge and influence hiring managers in a constructive way.
- Experience managing end-to-end recruitment, ideally in a complex, professional services, engineering, infrastructure or technical environment.
- Strong sourcing capability, including direct search, talent pipelining and market mapping.
- Confidence using recruitment systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, reporting tools and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to interpret recruitment data, market insights and pipeline information to support hiring recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility across different teams and leadership levels.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a practical and candidate-focused approach.
- Understanding of New Zealand recruitment and employment practices.
- A commitment to fair, inclusive and accessible recruitment processes.
- Curiosity about digital tools, automation and continuous improvement in recruitment.
