This position is for a Security Analyst to join our Operations team, with a primary focus on IT/Cyber Security. The key role is to continually improve the quality and value of IT Security Operations to the business by analyzing and acting on alerts and incidents from the Security Operations Centre. The role will involve the use of “playbooks” and “knowledge base articles” around incident response. You will play a vital part in supporting day-to-day continuity for a dynamic workforce. Responsibilities include resolving complex incidents, managing device compliance, and collaborating with other teams to deliver seamless support. Clear communication, empathy, technical expertise, and adherence to security and operational standards will be key to your success.

You will work closely with colleagues across IT support tiers, infrastructure, and other security teams, contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities 

  • Investigate and resolve Level 3 security incidents, collaborating with operational and cyber security teams and escalating when required.  

  • Proactively manage vulnerability management, conduct security assessments, and prioritise remediation activities to maintain a strong security posture. 

  • Focus on cyber incident response, investigation, containment, and remediation of security threats and reduction of false positive. 

  • Apply security patches and updates, manage security exceptions, and support compliance reporting and audit activities.  

  • Web application compliance checks. 

Maintain and enhance knowledge base articles, ensuring accurate documentation and continuous improvement of security operations. 

  • Demonstrate initiative in learning new technologies and enhancing both technical and interpersonal skills.

Key Performance Indicators 

 

  • SLA Compliance- Ensure tickets are resolved or escalated to uphold service standards. 

  • Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR)- Minimise resolution time to restore services. 

  • Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) – Improve customer satisfaction feedback. 

  • Average Handling Time (AHT) – Measure the average time spent per ticket, including conversation and follow-up activities. 

 

Candidate Specification 

 

Essential: 

 

  • Degree or equivalent relevant qualification in an IT related discipline or relevant industry experience. 

  • Knowledge of IT Security threats and principles (Malware, Phishing, Vulnerabilities) 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Networking concepts and Operating systems windows /Linux.  

  • Experience of IT security tools (Tenable IO, Nessus, Defender, Microsoft security consoles, Zscaler, SIEM, etc). 

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. 

  • Logical and analytical approach to problem solving. 

 

Desirable: 

 

  • Experience of handling security incidents related to Microsoft cloud and Windows operating system environments. 

  • Previous experience of working in a security role. 

  • Knowledge of ITIL Service Management best practices, ITIL V3/V4. 

  • Experience in handling issues related to permissions, security, access, active directory. 

  • Experience in using Service Now or similar ITSM 

  • Experience of working in a global organization 

  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as (ISC)2 or ISACA 

  • Proactive approach to diagnosing potential security breaches
