Roles & Responsibilities:

 

Working as a packager will be expected to create, test and deploy software packages for engineering and business software. You will be packaging applications for deployment through Microsoft SCCM and Intune. They will also help solve deployment issues by engaging internal owners and Software vendor support. The person will be able to implement installation scripts and packaging requirements as well as deploy packages successfully using the change management process.   

 

Key duties and responsibilities include: 

 

  • Design, test, and build common application installation scripts and packages for deployment to Windows Desktops and Servers using SCCM and Intune. 

  • Work closely with application teams to provide automation and deployment support for software. 

  • Manage software distribution and deployment in SCCM. 

  • Manage converting SCCM apps to Intune (Win32) apps, Test and deployment. 

  • Evaluate scripts and code for integration with existing tools and adaptation to requirements. 

  • Software deployment of third-party applications on Windows 10/11 client platforms. 

  • Create documentation and disseminate information about steps, tools, methods and best practices. 

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. 

  • Ensure the IT solutions we deliver comply with Mott MacDonald standards, policies and any regulation; this includes adhering to our internal governance.    

 

Candidate Specification:

 

Essential: 

 

  • Significant experience in application packaging. 

  • In-depth knowledge of the Windows 10 and 11 Operating System, including registry, paths, and other common application relevant information. 

  • Experience in Azure Active directory, Intune (Win32 apps) and SCCM infrastructure. 

  • Experience with scripting and programming languages such as PowerShell, VBScript, JScript Bash, Perl, Python, DevOps tools. 

  • Ability to work independently and creatively to resolve complex issues promptly. 

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. 

  • Experience of using an ITSM system to record and manage work. 

 

Desirable: 

  • Educated to bachelor’s degree level, preferably in an IT or engineering related discipline. 

  • Knowledge of ITIL Service Management best practices, ITIL V3/V4. 

  • Formal training in SCCM, Intune, and PatchMyPC preferred. 

  • Experience of working in a global organization.
