Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
•    Oversee all stages of highway projects from conception through completion, ensuring they meet client specifications, budgets, and timelines.
•    Provide technical leadership in highway design, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
•    Engage with clients, contractors, and public agencies to understand project requirements, communicate progress, and resolve any issues that arise.
•    You will serve as a technical expert, pioneering the development and application of advanced engineering concepts and strategies to address unique challenges. Your role will involve seeking innovative solutions in the design and implementation of various projects.
•    You will lead, mentor, and oversee all team members in both technical and project management aspects to ensure successful project delivery, while also supporting their technical and professional growth.
•    You will engage in internal client communication, monitor budgets for ongoing projects, participate in recruitment efforts, contribute to business development activities, and prepare fee proposals.
•    You will play a key role in preserving the team's culture and fostering a positive working environment

 

Key Competencies:
•    You should have extensive knowledge and experience in highway design, including road geometry, junction designs, road restraint systems, circulation plans, pavement design, signage, and road markings.
•    You should have proven experience in successfully leading a team and managing relationships with stakeholders.
•    You should be adept at directing and verifying the use of relevant design software such as Civil 3D, Open Roads, Infraworks, Navisworks, PDS/Key Line and Sign, AutoCAD, and ProjectWise. Auto-turn/vehicle tracking.
•    You should have experience in liaising with clients, co-professionals, and design teams.
•    You should exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    You should possess effective time management and strong organizational skills.
•    Willingness to learn new skills and capabilities offered by the organization. 
•    Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status of a recognised professional institution would be  an advantage.
•    12+ years of experience in highway design; 
•    Experience with one of the 3D design software packages: Autodesk Civil3D, Navisworks,  Infraworks, alternatively Bentley InRoads /Open Roads; 
•    Strong interpersonal skills supporting collaborative working with colleagues; 
•    Problem-solving attitude with a high level of responsibility for assigned tasks and projects; 
•    Professional and respectful approach towards others; 
•    Willingness to learn new skills and capabilities offered by the organization. 
•    Familiarity with BIM and common data environment software for example Bentley Project  Wise, Autodesk BIM 360 and/or Microsoft Sharepoint would be a plus; 
•    Knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks would be an advantage but not a must; 
•    Experience in managing design teams of different sizes; 

 

Qualifications:
•    You will possess a Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, along with more than 12 years of post-graduate experience in highway design.
•    Member of recognised institution and working towards chartership would be an advantage
