Key Responsibilities:

 

•    Experience in microsimulation in Traffic Engineering projects using PTV VISSIM.
•    Has carried out Traffic Impact Assessments, Scheme Evaluations using microsimulation models.
•    Has got experience in Junction Modelling projects using SYNCRO.
•    Should be well versed in traffic operations using junction modelling software.
•    Thorough knowledge of traffic flow theory and route assignments techniques are mandatory.
•    Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in transport planning to integrate innovative solutions into projects
•    Along with microsimulation and junction modelling software, analysis need to be undertaken using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools like ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS.
•    Analyse complex data sets to identify patterns and trends using Power BI, Python, VB.
•    Developing innovative solutions to transportation challenges and continuously improving processes.
•    Collaborate with engineers, urban planners, and policymakers to integrate transportation solutions with land use planning and urban development.
•    Provide technical oversight, reviewing and checking the work of junior team members to ensure accuracy and adherence to project standards.
•    Demonstrate working knowledge of common data environments such as ProjectWise, ensuring efficient data management and project collaboration.
•    Analyse technical design problems and offer innovative ideas to improve solutions and processes, ensuring projects meet client and regulatory requirements.
•    Communicate effectively with counterparts in the lead office/Client office, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery

 

Key Competencies:

 

•    4+ years of experience in strategic transport modelling projects using PTV VISSIM.
•    Relevant experience on projects from Australia and New Zealand is preferred.
•    Working knowledge of guidelines such as TRM and Austroads Guides are desirable.
•    Thorough knowledge of traffic modelling and junction modelling concepts along with statistical and mathematical proficiency mandatory.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders.
•    Liaison with clients, authorities, stakeholders for approval of submissions.
•    Knowledge in other transport modelling application (e.g. LinSig, SIDRA, AIMSUN, VISUM) would be an added advantage.
•    Excellent communicational skills and analytical proficiency is mandatory.
•    Ability to produce high quality Technical Reports, Technical Notes and Methodology Notes.
•    Proficient in presenting transport modelling analysis and results to clients and lead offices.
•    Should be proactive and possess ability to work with limited supervision.

 

 Qualifications:

 

•    Master’s degree holder in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
•    Member of recognised institution and working towards chartership.
