Your Opportunity
Our Project, Programme, and Commercial Management team is looking for a Pre-Contracts Commercial Advisor with credentials across a range of experience to support convert our growing pipeline of prospects for government and institutional clients into committed work. The role supports pre-contract negotiations with clients and partners with responsibilities across negotiating and advising on contract terms as well as analysing and defining rates and models in complex commercial frameworks.
With us, you’ll engage across several key markets – transportation, energy, defence, water and the built environment in Queensland and across Australia. You will be joining a diverse team of consultants who are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record guiding our clients, and leading delivery of our most critical projects. At the nexus of technical and commercial issues, our team effectively take ownership of tough problems.
Depending on your specific expertise, your responsibilities will include various aspects of:
- Leading commercial negotiations with various parties, including clients and industry partners, in complex arrangements across joint ventures, design and construct engagements, and collaborative delivery models such as within Alliances and as Integrated Delivery Partners.
- Collaborating with in-house counsel, insurance managers, and technical leads to produce winning commercial offers.
- Advising our senior leadership on matters of commercial risk and governance and taking ownership of formal commercial governance approvals.
- Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve commercial management procedures, templates, and products that improve our client services.
- Mentoring and developing commercial acumen within and beyond your team
About You
- Tertiary qualifications relevant to commercial management, law, quantity surveying, engineering or business.
- 8-12 years experience working in commercial management for built environment/infrastructure consultancies or directly interfacing with them.
- Demonstrated experience in major projects across one of the transport, defence, energy, water, or built environment markets.
- Experience in or knowledge of the QLD government specific procurement and delivery strategies
- Demonstrated ability to form strategic partnerships and joint ventures for major infrastructure projects is ideal
- Demonstrated ability to conduct partner and client due diligence, providing recommendations to executives is desired
