The Opportunity
Join our Project Strategy & Delivery team as a Commercial Management Specialist and be part of a dynamic, purpose-driven environment where your expertise will help shape the future of infrastructure across Queensland and Australia. As a Commercial Management Specialist, you will collaborate closely with our Commercial and Technical leaders, negotiating complex engagements and working alongside our teams to deliver exceptional infrastructure outcomes. You will engage across key markets such as transportation, energy, defence, water, and the built environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analysis & Advice: Contribute to commercial parameters across joint ventures, design and construct engagements, and collaborative delivery models.
  • Commercial Activities: Support both pre-contract and active delivery commercial activities.
  • Reporting: Develop clear and concise commercial reports incorporating key KPIs to inform executive decision-making.
  • Subcontractor Management: Administer subcontractor arrangements including payments, insurance, reporting, and due diligence.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and act upon opportunities to improve commercial management procedures, templates, and products.
  • Collaboration: Work with commercial leaders, in-house counsel, insurance managers, and technical leads to produce fit-for-purpose solutions to commercial risks.
  • Best Practice: Represent best practice and support commercial acumen within and beyond our team.

 

About You
With around 8 years of experience in commercial management, you have primarily supported your organisation’s commercial outcomes and may have started providing consulting advice to clients. You are eager to expand your experience across multiple markets and develop further in areas you may not yet have mastered.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to commercial management, law, engineering, or business.
  • Experience in developing delivery-oriented commercial solutions for infrastructure clients.
  • Engagement with in-house and outside counsel for legal guidance and contract formation.
  • Practical experience administering various standard forms of infrastructure contracts (e.g., DTMRs TIPDS suite, NEC, AS 2124, AS 4000).
  • Subcontractor procurement and contract management experience.
  • Strong commercial skills and appreciation of relevant procurement and delivery strategies in Queensland.
