Your Opportunity
Mott MacDonald’s Roads & Highways team in Queensland continues to grow, supported by a strong and diverse pipeline of state‑significant transport infrastructure projects such as The Wave.
We are seeking experienced Roads & Highways Designers / Drafters with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) experience to support the delivery of major road and highway projects.
This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys working on technically complex projects and wants long‑term stability, strong project exposure, and the opportunity to work within a nationally connected transport team.
What you will be involved in
- Producing high‑quality road and highway design drawings and models for TMR‑led projects
- Supporting concept, preliminary and detailed designs in line with TMR standards, manuals and specifications
- Developing horizontal and vertical alignments, corridors, cross‑sections and earthworks models
- Preparing design documentation using 12D and AutoCAD
- Coordinating closely with multi-discipline engineers, project managers and other stakeholder’s
- Supporting design reviews, responding to comments, and contributing to constructable outcomes
- Working on projects across roads, highways, interchanges and transport corridors
- Supporting continuous improvement in project delivery, safety, quality and commercial performance
About You
You are a technically strong designer / drafter who understands how TMR projects are delivered and enjoys being part of a collaborative delivery team.
You’ll bring:
- Demonstrated experience as a Roads & Highways Designer / Drafter in Queensland
- Proven experience working on TMR projects, either client‑side, contractor side or within consultancy environments
- Strong capability in 12D (essential) and AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of TMR design standards, including alignment, earthworks and corridor modelling
- Ability to work across multiple project stages and manage competing priorities
- A practical, delivery‑focused mindset and strong attention to detail
