Following growth in the Queensland market and with a strong pipeline of current projects and upcoming opportunities, we are looking to continue the growth of our commercial team.
The Opportunity
Our Project Strategy & Delivery team is looking for a Technical Director Commercial Management with credentials across a range of experience to support the delivery of our committed work, and growing pipeline of prospects for government and institutional clients. The role can include everything from leading pre-contract commercial negotiations with clients and partners to providing independent commercial advice as a consultant to clients actively delivering their infrastructure programs.

You will be joining a diverse team of consultants who are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record guiding our clients, and leading delivery of our most critical projects. At the nexus of technical and commercial issues, our team take ownership of tough problems and consciously move projects forward.
Depending on your specific expertise, your responsibilities will include various aspects of:
- Leading commercial negotiations with various parties, including clients and industry partners, in complex arrangements across joint ventures, design and construct engagements, and collaborative delivery models such as within Alliances and as Integrated Delivery Partners.
- Handling of contractual frameworks, standard contract forms, and their effective administration including as our trusted representative and at times on behalf of clients.
- At times providing clients with consulting advice on commercial elements of infrastructure delivery including in collaboration with multidisciplinary professionals.
- Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve commercial management procedures, templates, and products that improve our client services.
- Advising our senior leadership on matters of commercial risk and governance.
- Collaborating with in-house counsel, insurance managers, and technical leads to produce fit for purpose internal solutions to commercial risks.
- Mentoring and developing commercial acumen within and beyond your team.
About You
As a senior member of the team, you will be well regarded by your peers and effective in collaborative environments. While you may not demonstrate all of the following indicators, we encourage you to consider the role if you have particular experience in many of the following areas and an interest in developing in the others:
- Establishing an inclusive leadership style with a track record of developing others
- Holding tertiary qualifications relevant to commercial management, law, engineering or business
- Having practical experience administering various standard forms of infrastructure contracts, for example, DTMRs TIPDS suite, NEC, AS 2124, AS 4000, etc.
- Successfully forming strategic teaming agreements and Joint Ventures for infrastructure opportunities
- Undertaking due diligence on partners and clients and making recommendations to executives
- Celebrating success representing technical consultancies within major projects
- Consulting on energy, transport, or signature social infrastructure projects
- Honing your strong commercial skills and detailed understanding of relevant procurement and delivery strategies in Queensland
