Your Opportunity
Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, Mott MacDonald's Transport team has an exciting opening for a Technical Driector Transport Planning in the Brisbane or Sunshine Coast office. You will be joining a diverse and passionate team with a proven track record delivering major projects across Australia.
As our Technical Director Transport Planning, you will play a pivotal role in leading the planning, design and delivery of some of Queensland's most significant transport and urban mobility projects. This is an opportunity to combine technical excellence, client leadership and business growth while helping to build and strengthen our Urban Mobility capability across the state. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will help deliver innovative, integrated and sustainable transport solutions that improve accessibility, connectivity and customer outcomes for communities across Queensland.
- Demonstrated experience leading the delivery of complex transport planning and infrastructure projects, providing technical leadership, sound professional judgement and quality advisory services.
- Strong client relationship management, stakeholder engagement and business development experience, including leading or contributing to successful proposals and pursuits.
- Experience mentoring and developing transport professionals and supporting high-performing teams.

Growing and developing our Urban Mobility capability within Queensland, expanding expertise across public transport planning, integrated corridor studies, multi-modal network planning and transport infrastructure design.

Leading multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating transport planning, traffic engineering, active transport, modelling and infrastructure design inputs.

Managing the preparation of transport strategies, business cases, feasibility studies, corridor planning studies, concept designs and network planning projects.

Acting as a trusted advisor to clients including the Department of Transport and Main Roads, local government authorities, public transport agencies and private sector organisations.

Providing specialist advice on public transport planning, service integration, accessibility, customer experience, station and stop operations, future mobility and multi-modal access.

Supporting business development activities through client engagement, proposal preparation and strategic pursuit of new opportunities.

Managing project performance, including programme, risk, commercial and quality outcomes.

Contributing to thought leadership, innovation and best practice within urban mobility and transport planning.
About You
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Urban Planning or a related discipline.
- Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) (for engineering pathway) and/or eligibility for relevant professional accreditation.
- Chartered status or progress towards chartership highly regarded.

Extensive experience in transport planning, urban mobility or integrated transport infrastructure projects.

Strong technical knowledge of public transport planning, multi-modal networks, corridor planning and transport strategy development.

Commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, risk and quality outcomes.

A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring and developing teams.
