Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated GIS Consultant to join our growing GIS team. Working under the guidance of experienced consultants, you will support the delivery of GIS solutions including spatial data management, analysis, mapping, and digital engineering projects while developing your professional and technical skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the collection, management, validation, and maintenance of GIS datasets.
  • Create, edit, and maintain geospatial data using ArcGIS Pro and related GIS tools.
  • Produce maps, plans, visualisations, and project deliverables to required quality standards.
  • Perform spatial analysis and support project teams with GIS-related tasks.
  • Assist with the organisation and maintenance of geodatabases and other spatial data repositories.
  • Document workflows, methodologies, and project outputs clearly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure data consistency and successful project delivery.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks while proactively seeking guidance when required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of GIS processes, tools, and standards.

 

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in GIS, Geography, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, Surveying, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with at least GIS specialization.
  • 0-2 years of relevant GIS experience (including internships, placements, or academic projects).
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro.
  • Understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data models, coordinate systems, and geodatabases.
  • Basic knowledge of database concepts and data management principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

 

Desirable (Not Required)

  • Experience with Python scripting or GIS automation.
  • Knowledge of FME (Feature Manipulation Engine).
  • Familiarity with SQL or relational databases.
  • Exposure to ArcGIS Online, Enterprise GIS, or web mapping technologies.
  • Experience gained through university projects, internships, or placement programmes.
