Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Role Overview: As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will operate as an experienced engineering design professional, responsible for a range of complex work requiring specialized knowledge in geotechnical engineering. You will mentor and guide team members, manage individual projects, and contribute to the technical excellence of the team. You will prioritize your workload to meet deadlines and team objectives, while developing your management and leadership skills.

Candidate Specification :

• Bachelor’s or Master´s degree in civil engineering (geotechnics)
• 7-10+ years geotechnical design experience.
• Active Hungarian and / or English.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of the latest design software packages such as Plaxis, GeoStudio, RocSciences, Repute DeepEx, Midas GTS NX or similar is advantage but not a condition.
• Enthusiastic and willing to work in a team environment.
• Self-motivated with good organizational capability.
• Demonstrate continuous strive for a professional development and willingness to learn.
• Structural design skills are welcome

Key Accountabilities:

• Operational Compliance:

• Maintain and renew a deep understanding of the organization’s policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory codes.
• Ensure adherence to required standards and identify patterns of non-compliance within the team, taking appropriate action to resolve issues.

• Engineering Solutions Design:

• Design engineering solutions and validation processes to meet design briefs, ensuring conformity with organizational and regulatory standards.

• Health, Safety, and Environment:

• Follow HS&E policies and procedures, identify and mitigate environmental and workplace risks, and instruct the team in safe working methods.

• Solutions Analysis:

• Analyze specific problems and issues to find the best technical or professional solutions.

• Performance Management:

• Develop and propose performance objectives, manage and report on team performance, and take corrective actions to ensure achievement of objectives.

• Personal Capability Building:

• Participate in development planning activities, formal and informal training, and maintain professional accreditation to improve performance.

• Leadership and Direction:

• Communicate the local action plan, motivate the team to achieve business goals, and align team efforts with the broader company mission and vision.
