Mott MacDonald is currently seeking a Key Account Leader to work with our growing transportation and municipal infrastructure team in Calgary. The role is a leadership position that aims to be externally facing to enhance our reputation with key clients with a focus on the transportation, municipal infrastructure, and advisory business in Alberta, and support wider opportunities throughout Canada.   

 

This is a role where you'll be responsible for engaging and working with our clients in the public transportation and infrastructure sector, including the province and major municipalities, to develop strong working relationships and deliver a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.  You will leverage your technical credibility and network to drive engagement with key clients. This is a visible and prestigious position, internally and externally.

 

A Key Account Leader at Mott MacDonald is responsible for building and managing strategic relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure trust, alignment, and long-term partnership.  More specifically, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

 

 

  • Relationships: Build and maintain strategic relationships with senior client stakeholders, ensuring trust and alignment with their requirements. Promote Mott MacDonald initiatives and drive collaborative engagement across the business. 

  • Growth: Drive business development through identification of, and positioning for, new opportunities in the market to maintain a strong sales pipeline. 

  • Capture: Lead bid processes and support project delivery teams—ensuring technical and commercial robustness. 

  • Delivery: Fill senior project execution and delivery roles within assignments aligned with your technical specialization.  

  • Client outcomes oversight: Oversee commercial performance, risk management, and quality outcomes for client projects. 

  • Ethics: Exemplify leadership by upholding Mott MacDonald’s ethical standards and values, ensuring zero tolerance for unacceptable behaviors. Manage and eliminate conflicts of interest, ensuring compliance and ethical conduct. 

  • Industry presence: Represent Mott MacDonald at networking opportunities, speak at events and participate at industry functions.   

 

 

 

The preferred candidate will have the following qualifications:  

 

 

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive experience with the development and delivery of transportation, municipal infrastructure, or advisory projects, including a minimum of five (5) years of delivering projects to The City of Calgary or Government of Alberta.  

  • Strong technical background aligned with Mott MacDonald’s growth Markets and Submarkets in Alberta including Transport (Highways, Rail, and Urban Mobility) and Water (Wastewater, Water Supply), or alignment with practice areas such as Bridge Engineering, Advisory Services or Transport Planning.  

  • Demonstrated interest and capability in business development, and the development and maintenance of client relationships.  

  • Desire to work with multiple agencies to develop projects in a collaborative fashion.  

  • In-depth knowledge of, and exemplary reputation within, the Alberta engineering consultancy market.  

  • Strong written and oral communication and leadership skills

Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.

 

 

The expected salary range for this position is from $160,000 - $200,000
