Structural Designer

Mott MacDonald has an immediate need for a Structural Designer to help support and delivery a large variety of energy and oil & gas projects across North America. 
 
As a Structural Designer, your roles and responsibilities are expected to include: 
 

• Create 3D structural models using AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant Structure 2020 experience is a must.

• Prepare 2D packages from the design models.

• Developing General Arrangement and detailed drawings for concrete and steel structures, including plant buildings, pipe racks, platforms, and tank farms.

• Collaborate with other disciplines and the project engineering team for structural design requirements.

• Create drawings with minimal supervision.

• Develop technical drawings from sketches (determining appropriate scales, arrangement, and specific details of the drawings) from the concepts required by the engineering team.

• Respect and enforce policies and procedures in the preparation of drawings.

• Realize the different stages of the project in the timeframes and budgets.

• Perform other related duties that may contribute to the projects.
   

Candidate Specifications:
 

• Ideal candidates must possess 5-10 years of experience directly related to the drafting and/or design modelling of oil and gas structures (pipe racks, modular buildings, platforms, tank farms)

• Hold an associates or higher degree in automated drawing or civil/structural engineering technology or in a related field, or working to obtain their degree

• Experience working in construction is an asset

• Have good communication skills (oral and written) in English

• Knowledge of AutoCAD 3D, CADWORX, Civil 3D, Navisworks, MS Office

• Ability to work to meet cost objectives, quality, and deadlines.

• Time management skills and adaptation to change.

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $92,000 - $112,000 annually. 
Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
