About the business unit
Mott MacDonald’s support services are the driving force behind our organisation enabling us to run efficiently and effectively. The team works collaboratively to offer specialist advice, best practice and technology to all areas of our business specifically designed for our global reach.
The AI Partnership Lead is responsible for driving strategic engagement with external partners focused on AI. This role involves developing and nurturing partnerships with AI companies as well as understanding and qualifying AI opportunities from both technological and commercial perspectives. The goal is business adoption of AI technologies and using external insights to inform AI strategy. This position works closely with the AI and Information team to enable responsible AI adoption as well as with the business to ensure business value. Mott MacDonald proactively leverages best-in-class AI.
The role is full-time and will report to the AI Solutions Lead.
Key Accountabilities
- Leverage AI partners: Bring in AI technology and connect it to opportunities within Mott MacDonald.
- Prioritise AI partnerships: Source and qualify opportunities with the business to prioritise and manage AI opportunities, ensuring value delivery across the business for Mott MacDonald and its clients.
- Develop Best Practices: Establish best practices and processes for partnerships and AI identifying the best partners to meet our business needs..
- Drive value and adoption: Drive value from existing partners and technology suppliers and support adoption of their AI solutions across the business in collaboration with the AI implementation lead and AI regional adoption teams.
- Gather external insights: Collect external insights to inform AI strategy.
- Align with senior stakeholders: Collaborate with AI and Information leads, and other key stakeholders from Technical Excellence, Digital Executive, and Executive Sponsors.
- Explore new opportunities: Encourage innovative thinking at Mott MacDonald to explore new AI opportunities from both technological and commercial perspectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership for Mott MacDonald in driving new AI opportunities by leveraging external partners, in alignment with Mott MacDonald’s growth strategy.
- Strategy and Best Practice: developing strategy and plans, ensuring best practice processes and guidelines are developed and followed for bringing in insights and developing strong partnerships.
- Leverage AI: utilise AI technology to create value for Mott MacDonald by assessing and trialling technology and conducting commercial assessments.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including senior and executive leaders, business units, practices, the digital services team, and project teams, to ensure the successful adoption of AI.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor performance metrics for the partnerships team and AI assessments, and regularly report on progress and outcomes
- Raise partnership awareness: Engage with key stakeholders, fostering a culture of awareness, continuous learning, and professional growth within Mott MacDonald. Provide guidance, support, and opportunities for professional development.
- Technology Reputation: positioning Mott MacDonald as an AI leader through sharing insights. Represent Mott MacDonald on AI topics in global forums and industry working groups.
Education
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in technology or science or business or other field related to the sectors that Mott MacDonald operates in.
Experience
- Strong understanding of AI, innovation and technology processes, systems, and their implementation in a business context.
- Proven experience in a technology implementation role, preferably in a technology or business development environment.
- Demonstrable experience in establishing and growing partnerships and developing ecosystems.
- Track record of influencing positively, at level and across an organisation.
- Progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide business improvement or change programmes, operating and influencing effectively across the organisation and within complex contexts.
