About the business unit  
Mott MacDonald’s support services are the driving force behind our organisation enabling us to run efficiently and effectively. The team works collaboratively to offer specialist advice, best practice and technology to all areas of our business specifically designed for our global reach. 

 

 

Overview of the role
Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Strong focus on the management of a wide range of ER cases to include performance management, grievances, disciplinaries and providing sound advice to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and legislation
  • Driving talent management activities across the unit
  • Building key stakeholder relationships
  • Managing wellbeing cases
  • Responsible for providing data and tracking ER cases and absence management
  • Supporting the design of training materials for the business
  • Support the Senior People team through change management processes including restructure, redundancy, redeployment and consultation
  • Manage processes, provide advice and guidance on secondments, transfers, cross–border remote working requests and relocations and ensure a consistent and trackable approach
  • Assist with general cyclical activities such a salary reviews and bonus reviews including the analysis of associated data
  • Supporting with the co-ordination of Learning and Development programmes
  • Deputise for HRBP in their absence
  • Make a positive contribution to the development of guidelines for people processes, attend and participate in appropriate meetings and forums
  • Ad hoc projects
  • Assisting with the production of data/papers for Board meetings

 


Candidate specification
Essential:

  • Highly experienced and excellent knowledge of managing a range of employee relations cases in accordance with UK legislation to include grievances, disciplinaries, performance management, absence management, redundancies
  • Can do, proactive and positive attitude with the ability to motivate self
  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills with the ability to analyse and interpret complex data and people information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to quickly build effective, collaborative relationships with the people team and other colleagues across the business
  • Good organisation and prioritisation skills with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Comply with Data Protection and General Data Protections Regulations (GDPR) and ensure the security of employee information in accordance with legislation and best practice
  • Ability to communicate routine and complex information clearly at all levels recognising the importance of attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in HR Systems, and Microsoft Office 
  • CIPD qualified (or working towards)

 

Desirable:

  • Experience within an engineering or consultancy environment
