Mott MacDonald is seeking a dynamic leader to spearhead our Denver office operations. This is an all-encompassing leadership role that blends strategic business acumen, project excellence, and people-centric leadership. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the future of our Denver office, driving growth, fostering culture, and positioning us to win major pursuits.
Key Responsibilities
- Local Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as the face of Mott MacDonald in Denver, representing the office internally and externally.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the Denver office, with a focus on high-value clients and impactful projects.
- Expand capabilities in water treatment, transit, and highways, supporting other offices as needed.
- Project & Pursuit Excellence
- Act as Project Principal on key projects, ensuring strong positioning and delivery.
- Lead pursuit strategy and process development to secure major contracts with a focus on larger, more strategic clients.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients to drive long-term partnerships and trust.
- Financial & Business Acumen
- Oversee P&L for the Denver office, ensuring financial health and sustainable growth.
- Drive business decisions with a strong understanding of financial metrics and market dynamics.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop teams and office structure, fostering career growth and development
- Mentor staff, guiding career paths and building a culture of belonging and excellence.
- Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment.
- Demonstrate a consistent and reliable in-office presence to foster collaboration and team cohesion
Qualifications
- Proven experience in leading and growing multidisciplinary teams and developing career pathways for staff.
- Experience managing complex infrastructure projects and overseeing office operations.
- Strong background in either water and wastewater treatment or transportation and infrastructure.
- Demonstrated success in business development and pursuit strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and interpret P&L statements to drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Able to translate financial data into actionable insights, ensuring the office operates profitably while maintaining high standards of project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Have local market connections or ability to quickly learn and adapt to the local Denver market.
- Has a passion for mentoring and developing others

At Mott MacDonald, we provide a comprehensive benefit package that includes 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, short-term/long-term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave and company paid life insurance.
The expected salary for this position is $157,000 - $192,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
