Your Opportunity

Our Environment and Society team in Victoria currently has a vacancy for an Senior Environmental Impacts Consultant to join our growing team in Melbourne. Develop your career within our highly successful global business and work with our local and national colleagues. Are you interested in becoming part of team in Victoria that gets to work on a variety of projects and gets to be involved in a team from the ground up? The role will be integral to our growing team working on some of the largest most complex energy and transport projects in Victoria, and across Australia. Our team also works on major projects in our defence and water sectors, being an integral part of multidisciplinary teams.

This exciting role will include:

 

Technical project management and execution:

  • Contributing to the delivery of environmental approvals projects, reporting, planning approvals, impact assessments and related technical studies.
  • Construction environmental management of large infrastructure projects
  • Providing technical support for Projects in relation to environmental compliance and management.

 

Business development

  • Contribute to identifying new project opportunities, develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Support the development of proposals and bid submissions.
  • Contribute to, and coordinating the delivery of environmental studies and documentation for the attainment of local, state, and federal environmental approvals

 

Team leadership and mentoring

  • Mentor and provide guidance to more junior members of the environment team.
  • Manage and/or liaise with environment consultants and other planning consultants, to ensure successful delivery of a project.
  • Work collaboratively as part of an integrated expert across larger projects across other internal Mott MacDonald sectors.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

About You

  • 5-8 years experience in environment and planning approvals in Victoria with deep connections with working in consulting.
  • You’ll have the ability to influence and develop strong relationships with our key clients in providing environment and sustainability strategy with the delivery of major infrastructure projects.
  • A diverse background and experience of delivering on high value projects across the environment and planning space.
  • Tertiary qualifications in in science/engineering/planning Experience in environmental management, approvals, Impact assessments, risk assessments etc.In-depth understanding of Victorian and Commonwealth environment and planning legislation.
  • Environment and planning project management or project coordination experience
  • Experience working in a consulting environment.
