Your Opportunity
Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, our Transport team has an exciting opening for a Materials and Durability Engineer in the Melbourne office. You will be joining a diverse and passionate team with a proven track record delivering major projects across Victoria. As a Materials and Durability Engineer in the transport space, you will be working on significant urban development, public realm and precinct type projects that shape the communities in which we live. With a focus on social and environmental outcomes, our team works across a range of sectors including arts and culture, commercial, civic, education, transport, defence, and sports. You will have the opportunity to
- Develop and review durability plans for concrete, steel, and composite structures.
- Conduct material performance assessments and provide recommendations for long-term asset resilience.
- Perform inspections and evaluations of existing structures to determine material condition and service life.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for remediation strategies.
- Research and implement innovative and sustainable material solutions, including low-carbon concrete, recycled aggregates, and advanced coatings.
- Provide technical input during design, construction, and maintenance phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineers.
- Contribute to the preparation of the materials discipline for upcoming defence projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and security requirements.
About You
- Relevant qualification in Materials Engineering or related discipline
- Previous experience in materials engineering for Transport and Building projects
- Knowledge of durability design, material performance, and sustainability principles
- Skilled in project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
