Your Opportunity
Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, Mott MacDonald's Building team has an exciting opening for an Acoustic Engineer to join our Melbourne team. You will have the opportunity to work on signature projects including some of Melbourne’s biggest transport projects and most prestigious buildings, whilst continuing to grow and develop your knowledge in acoustics. This is an opportunity to take your career and professional capabilities to the next level.
Our acoustics team is a highly specialised group of individuals working on some of Victoria’s most exciting projects, able to draw upon the experience and support from the wider acoustics team throughout Australia and overseas. With a focus on social and environmental outcomes which you will have the opportunity to:

Support the development of acoustic engineering assessments and solutions.

Undertake calculation, modelling analysis, reporting and acoustic mitigation treatment for buildings and environmental acoustics including education, government, commercial, mixed use, railways and roads projects.

Support acoustic site investigations and assessments.

Support research and coordination of development into improved technical capabilities, including tools to streamline and automate the collection and processing of data
About You

Engineering or Science degree qualified in a relevant discipline, post-graduate qualifications will be an advantage

Experience with acoustics in the built environment including gaining approvals, knowledge of Australian noise and vibration standards and local environmental noise regulations and guidelines.

Experience with acoustic modelling software such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA, EASE and/or Odeon.

Good analytical problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing and able to engage within a collaborative work environment, with a reputation for delivering high-quality work.

Developing knowledge of specialist modelling capabilities (SEA/FEA/BEM), programming and data analytics skills (Matlab/Python) and GIS software will be an advantage.

Experience or broad understanding or wider environmental engineering including air quality assessment.
