About the role:
As a Senior/ Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of all electrical components for the design.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
- Lead electrical design, analysis, load lists, specifications, data sheets, drawings and procurement activities
- Support inter-discipline technical coordination, liaising with other disciplines, clients, contractors, stakeholders and regulatory authorities
- Conduct technical reviews on design deliverables related to electrical equipment/system design and calculations
- Coordinate electrical systems including power distribution, electrical controls and distribution boards
- Evaluate and advise on electrical related design changes and non-conformances to ensure fulfilment of the requirements
- Lead the preparation of reports, specifications and other technical documentation
- Lead procurement and evaluation activities including the preparation of material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, vendor drawing reviews and support technical discussions with vendors
- Conduct site visits, inspections, FAT, SAT, quality audits and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Ensure high HSEQ standards, participate in HAZID/HAZOP studies and manage technical queries
- Knowledge of industry and authority standards, e.g. DEWA, TAQA, ADNOC AGES, etc.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical personnel
Candidate Specification:
- Degree (BEng/BSc/BE) in Electrical engineering from an accredited university; membership (or working towards) to a professional institution
- Experience on the full spectrum of the electrical services including but not limited to; medium voltage (cables, transformers and switchgear), low voltage (power and lighting), fire detection and alarm system, general knowledge of ELV system, etc.
- Awareness of ETAP, SP3D, Autodesk Revit and BIM would be advantageous
- Experience of working in the oil and gas sector, specifically onshore fuel distribution networks and storage facilities
- Experience in FEED/EPC would be advantageous
- Demonstrable experience of coordinating with other disciplines and multiple stakeholders across geographies
- Knowledge of ADNOC standards would be advantageous
- Ability to present design schemes and discuss design issues with clients, architects and other stakeholders
