MEP BIM Manager

Purpose of the Job:
The role is to support the scoping and implementation of Middle East Unit’s program for Building Information Modelling (BIM) and assisting the Practice Manager in managing the associated business/cultural change.
Key Duties:
- Developing and implementing BIM workflows and driving standard usage of BIM.
- Developing BIM execution plans and maintaining project delivery standards.
- Manage the delivery of BIM documentation for projects, coordinating with Engineers, clients, and other members of the design team.
- Resource management and supporting continued professional development.
- Remain up to date with current industry standards, software, and best practices.
- BIM standard and automated workflow development, implementation, and enforcement.
- Configure and manage the common data environment for Middle East Unit to enable the effective management of engineering design data.
- Assist in establishing governance of engineering design data on behalf of authors, custodians, and owners, to enable the Middle East Unit’s (MEU's) to meet its business requirements.
- Assessment/development of the capability and competence of individuals to meet/deliver MEU’s BIM requirements.
- Scoping and implementation of MEU's corporate standards, methodology and procedures for the collection, production and coordination of data relating to projects.
- Implementation of processes to raise quality of data produced during projects to reduce engineering risk, defects, and construction waste.
Candidate Specification:
- Degree related to MEP / Building Services Engineering.
- Academic and/or industry qualifications related to Information Management, MEP / Building Services and Construction.
- Demonstratable Continuous Professional Development.
- Specialist and deep knowledge in the implementation, use and development of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
- Specialist knowledge in design automation and parametric design.
- Working knowledge of data/information exchange protocols.
- Ability to manage local and remote teams across different time zones.
- Working knowledge of relevant industry standards.
- Working knowledge of engineering contracts.
- Experience of the production and management of BIM data in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Up-to-date and demonstrable knowledge of current engineering and construction methodologies and trends, such as DfMA and MMC.
- Experience in understanding complex requirements from projects and interpreting them to deliver a problem definition.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write professional reports for review and consideration by senior MMU staff.
- Professional membership of industry organisations.
