About the role
An opportunity to spend 12 months with our growing and busy hydraulic modelling team who are providing inputs to reduce the risk of spill to the environment from storm overflows. We are assisting various UK water companies to deliver a range of vital projects as part of our on-going design and build frameworks.
What you’ll do:
- Support on hydraulic modelling studies, Sewerage Management Planning, Network Modelling as well as other projects requiring detailed technical analysis / asset management
- Searching for and organising data and information;
- Data analysis, visualisation and programming (eg. FME, Power BI, ArcGIS/QCIS and other tools)
- Feasibility studies/options development: Assisting with Asset Performance Assessments/Reviews, Report preparation/drawings, scheduling of work for sub-contractors and third-party survey teams, and liaison during the projects.
- Provide technical capability on wastewater projects as part of a project team
- Assist the Project Manager in the management/co-ordination of projects
- Attend and contribute to project meetings
- Contributing to technical reports and presentations;
What you’ll need:
- You must be studying a full-time relevant degree-level qualification (e.g.: Geography, Hydrology, Environmental Science)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Able to collaborate and work effectively within a multidiscipline and diverse team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An interest in developing a career in Network Modelling/Asset management to gain a full understanding of new projects and different clients, which will provide fresh experiences and support your development.

Mott MacDonald Bentley is a joint venture business, established in 1999 between civil engineering contractor JN Bentley and global management consultancy, Mott MacDonald.
Mott MacDonald Bentley offers fully integrated design and build services to its clients, combining the contracting expertise of JN Bentley and the design specialisms of Mott MacDonald.
This role is employed by J N Bentley but will involve working across the joint venture business, both with Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley colleagues.
