Hiring for a specialised BIM role is crucial to the success of the MMB Southwest Water framework. This position is pivotal in ensuring the accurate and efficient delivery of drawings and models leading ultimately onto accurate on-site installations. This role will enable the framework to achieve its strategic objectives by effectively integrating the Design, GDS, and Construction teams.
 

You will not only possess the requisite skills and expertise but also bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. With the support of the Principal Digital Delivery Lead and Unit Digital Lead, you will drive the framework forward, ultimately advancing MMB's goals.
You will contribute to building a robust team, enhancing productivity, and maintaining a competitive edge by effectively communicating and delivering the benefits of BIM and Information Management. 

 

To ensure we support our objectives of collaboration across the business whilst providing our workforce with the agility to achieve a healthy work/ life balance, we are asking our staff to have office or site presence on an average of three days a week.

 

What will you be doing as our new BIM Lead?

 

Key responsibilities:

•    Coordinate and manage BIM project data sets, workflows, and project setup for the framework.
•    Work closely with BIM modellers responsible for producing project information models, Supporting and auditing project teams, flagging non-compliances and identifying how to rectify.
•    Utilise 3D modelling software, including Revit and Civil 3D; experience with Autodesk Plant 3D is preferred.
•    Conduct weekly/bi-weekly coordination meetings with all teams using BIM models.
•    Responsible for compilation of (or contribution to) the project BIM Execution Plan, including input to Quality Assurance and Quality Control of models and drawings  
•    Responsible for compilation of (or contribution to) the project digital delivery plan (DDP)
•    Exhibit extensive knowledge of ACC and manage its workflows and approval processes as per ISO19650.
•    Assist project teams with the setup and utilisation of Navisworks as a design review/clash detection tool.
•    Production and management of BIM coordination processes and reports.
•    Act as the intermediary between designers, clients, outsource and construction teams to ensure project efficiency and effectiveness.
•    Train or upskill colleagues in specific software programs including Revit and ACC
•    Assist project teams with the creation and management of project MIDPs
•    Oversee the implementation of CAD and BIM on new projects.

 

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours:

 

•    Extensive experience in the Water Sector is preferable/ Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry working for a Tier1 contractor or design consultancy
•    Advanced understanding of BIM processes and willing to learn more 
•    Experience of the design coordination process  
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
•    Ability to effectively prioritise tasks and solve problems when working under pressure 
•    Diploma or Degree in Civils, Mechanical Engineering or Construction related subject
•    Training and qualifications associated with ISO 19650 desirable 
•    A technical understanding of Civil & Structural and/or MEP discipline is preferred 
•    Raise the profile of BIM across departments and teams
•    Awareness and interest in wider project issues such as Project Management and Information Management

Mott MacDonald Bentley is a joint venture business, established in 1999 between civil engineering contractor JN Bentley and global management consultancy, Mott MacDonald.

Mott MacDonald Bentley offers fully integrated design and build services to its clients, combining the contracting expertise of JN Bentley and the design specialisms of Mott MacDonald.

This role is employed by Mott MacDonald but will involve working across the joint venture business, both with Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley colleagues.
