Responsibilities :
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Oversee all stages of a project from conception through completion, ensuring they meet client specifications, budgets, and timelines.
• Provide technical leadership in pavement design, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and public agencies to understand project requirements, communicate progress, and resolve any issues that arise.
• You will serve as a technical expert, pioneering the development and application of advanced engineering concepts and strategies to address unique challenges. Your role will involve seeking innovative solutions in the design and implementation of various projects.
• You will lead, mentor, and oversee all team members in both technical and project management aspects to ensure successful project delivery, while also supporting their technical and professional growth.
• Participate in discussions with clients and assist the project lead in tracking day-to-day progress updates.
• You will engage in internal client communication, monitor budgets for ongoing projects, participate in recruitment efforts, contribute to business development activities, and prepare fee proposals.
• You will play a key role in preserving the team's culture and fostering a positive working environment
Candidate Specification :
Qualifications:
1. You will possess a Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, along with more than 10+ years of post-graduate experience in pavement design.
2. Member of recognised institution and working towards chartership.
1. Essential skills and experience:Pavement condition assessment
2. Pavement evaluation from structural and visual condition data
3. Pavement design (empirical) using international design standards like DMRB, AASHTO and Austroads
4. Analytical or mechanistic/empirical pavement design
5. Pavement rehabilitation design (inlay/overlay)
6. Specification of pavement surveys
7. Specification of pavement designs and material selection
8. Good command of Microsoft Office package;
9. Strong interpersonal skills supporting collaborative working with colleagues;
10. Problem-solving attitude with a high level of responsibility for assigned tasks and projects;
11. Experience with one of the 3D design software packages. Familiarity with BIM and common data environment software.
Desirable skills:
- Specification of pavement surveys
- Specification of pavement designs and material selection
- Interpretation of pavement and material survey data
- Configuration of pavement management systems (PMS)
- Deterioration modelling of pavements
- Lifecycle assessment and defining lifecycle plans for pavements
- Whole Life Costing and Whole Life Carbon assessment
- Root cause assessment / pavement failure diagnosis
- Pavement repair design
Job Profile :
As a Pavement Engineer, you will provide pavement design solutions as well as oversee the design and implementation of a range of infrastructure projects from initial concept up to detailed design working as part of multi-disciplinary teams. You will be involved in the design of pavements in a 3D environment. You will be part of design teams involved in preparation of integrated pavement models to a high level of accuracy within the BIM environment. You’ll provide technical guidance within your team while developing your skills and capabilities through our development and training programs.
