About the business unit  
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.   

 


Overview of the role
We are looking for Civil & Structural (C&S) Engineers to strengthen the existing Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) team; providing design capabilities across a variety of project types and technologies, supporting our clients across the world as part of the energy transition.

 

You will work with our team of engineers, technicians and draftsmen to deliver our work to specified standards and project schedule, while following our project governance. As part of your day-to-day work, you will be asked for analyse project documents, design of concrete structures including bar bending schedule checks, design steel structures including connection details, 3D model review under supervision of senior Engineer Staff. You are expected to deliver projects in accordance with the applicable Codes & Standard, prepare input for draftsmen and/or 3d modeller, examine, mark-up and align documentation and drawings.

 

The ideal candidate would have good understanding of steel and/or concrete design and a good familiarity with main national and international codes (Eurocodes and American codes). An understanding of power generation plants would be a plus, but not a necessity.

 

Currently we are developing projects in Thermal, & Nuclear sectors, Gas & Liquid, Wind and Solar, BESS, hydropower and our involvement is also in other sectors like Metros (UK & Canada), railways (UK), etc. providing a wide range of services to owners, contractors and developers, including feasibility, planning, detailed design, owner’s engineering and site supervision.

Candidate specification

  • A MSc degree in Civil Structural Engineering is mandatory
  • Ability to adapt and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment 
  • Experience of working with structural design software packages (e.g. Staad, Sap2000, GT Strudl, Idea Statica)
  • Knowledge of Tekla structure, Revit and Civil 3D software would be a plus
  • Good understanding of the design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts as well as experienced in producing calculations
  • As the majority of our deliverables are in English, a good level of oral and written English is expected, with Italian and any other languages being a plus
