As a Planning Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the planning of various construction projects. This role involves developing long-term plans and goals, analyzing productivity trends, and ensuring alignment with construction objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to achieve project success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work Knowledge and Skills:
    • Knowledge in the understanding of stages of planning, i.e., pre-contract (Procurement) and post-contract stages.
    • Understanding of work methods of different packages.
    • Conversant with all packages of structural, finishes, industrial structure.
    • Working understanding of electrical and mechanical packages.
    • Working knowledge in MS Project/Primavera P6.
  2. Pre-Contract Work:
    • Review of basic plan shared by the Client, validate with various work packages and lead time required.
    • Prepare a baseline integrated plan for the overall project.
    • Review the L1 schedule proposed by various contractors/vendors during the bid evaluation.
    • Review the work packages and their ordering plan and escalate concerns if any.
    • Conducting monthly meetings.
  3. Post-Contract Work:
    • Review and freeze baseline L2 schedule of each work package contractor/vendor.
    • Review contractors’ monthly plan and comment on the resource plan for its alignment.
    • Tracking of baseline plan of each major vendor.
    • Organizing monthly meetings.
  4. Documentation and MIS Reporting:
    • Keep all records of monthly project plan versus progress.
    • Flagging concerns on slippages and supporting the digital champion on risk register.
    • Preparation of monthly project report with support from other members.

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (master’s degree is a plus).
  • Proven experience as a Project Planner in the construction of hospitals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Projects, scheduling, baseline reviews.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Project Management & Contracts.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools; PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
  • Problem-solving orientation with the ability to make timely decisions and adapt to changing project dynamics.
