About the business unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.
Overview of the role
Our Liverpool transport planning and street design teams have a long legacy delivering significant work in and around the City Region. With vast experience working with many key public sector clients in the Region, our team thrives on personal relationships within the team and with clients. They deliver collaborative and technically excellent work to benefit the region’s people and workers, and our key clients’ priorities and aspirations.
Their recent work includes leading Liverpool City Region’s Rapid Transit strategy development, updating their Transport Model, developing and designing key active travel and public realm schemes for Liverpool City Council, and development planning support to St Helens and Halton Councils. The team has also built strong and trusted relationships with local authority partners such as Warrington Borough Council and Wirral Council, enabling long-term collaboration and successful project delivery across our region.
We are now investing in growing and developing this successful team further with a group of job opportunities including this Senior Transport Planner role, to join our expanding Transport and Mobility Solutions Division.
To support our strong pipeline of work in the North-West and around the UK, we are looking for a forward-thinking Senior Transport Planner to join our team, specialising in transport planning, development planning, and/or early-stage scheme design, optioneering and development.

You’ll work across land-use planning, transport policy, and infrastructure delivery, ensuring sustainable and accessible transport links are embedded at the heart of new developments.
This varied role offers great opportunities for skillset and career development, and would suit a flexible transport planner who is keen to both broaden and extend their skills. We support training and professional development/qualifications, and our multidisciplinary divisions will enable you to access a great breadth and depth of experience and opportunities.
