About the team 

 
The Social Infrastructure team at Mott MacDonald delivers a range of meaningful projects to support vulnerable communities across the UK, relating to key policies in areas such as social care, early years and health.  

You’ll be part of a team that oversees every aspect of the project life cycle, from concept and definition to implementation and handover. Our project managers also provide consultancy services to our clients, making the work varied and stimulating. 

The Role 

Our projects come in different sizes and complexities, so you’ll have the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience. Our approach to project management is based on the Project Management Institute’s Guide to the Body of Knowledge and includes additional components set out by the Association of Project Management and Office of Government Commerce.  

As a graduate project manager, you will: 

• Support the administration and management of project delivery. 

• Assist in the development of project resources such as producing communications and systems to track and monitor. 

• Participate in research and development of project deliverables, ranging from event planning to supporting with client reporting. 

• Contribute to ensuring our clients’ projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality. 

• Get experience in a range of project management methods – we adapt our approach according to specific client needs and processes.

As a graduate project manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering high quality projects to our clients, by harnessing your communication skills, problem-solving abilities and genuine passion and desire to make a difference in the world. To apply for this scheme, you will have less than 12 months relevant work experience as well as the below. 

•    Project Management 
•    Business Studies or similar 

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:
•    Methodical approach to problem solving.
•    Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
•    Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
•    Excellent written communication and attention to detail.

We will be reviewing applications throughout October and November, so we encourage you to get your applications in early. We expect to conduct the assessment centre in early December.  

Where you will be based  

For this role you may choose to join our London, Cambridge or Manchester office. We work flexibly, combining office and remote work, enabling us all to work in a way that suits ourselves, our team, and our client best.  

Mott MacDonald Ltd. are not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route in the UK. This decision is as a consequence of the changes made to the Skilled Worker route by the UK Government in April 2024. ​

Our ethos is to develop, train and retain our graduates and therefore we are looking for a long-term relationship with our graduates.
