Our Southern California office is looking to add a Senior Project Manager with a rail transit facilities focus to join our team. In this position, you will lead multi-discipline teams of employees, including MEP, Structural, and others in delivering projects that may include rail systems and rail facilities; transit and transit-oriented developments; and operational, administrative, and maintenance facilities.  You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and overall management of mid-sized programs and / or large and complex projects located throughout the Southern California region of the US.   

  

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead multi-disciplined teams and provide direction and oversight to accomplish project goals. 

  • Manage client property leasing arrangements for transit facilities. Negotiate and execute leasing agreements.  

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and budget allocation, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. 

  • Oversee design deliverables (plans, specifications, design analysis, estimates), engineering studies, feasibility reports and other engineering requirements. 

  • Identify project resource requirements and allocate them effectively, considering skills, availability and budget constraints. 

  • Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle and take proactive measures to minimize their impact. 

  • Lead project execution activities, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow, adherence to project plans, and timely delivery of project milestones. 

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and conform to industry standards. 

  • Monitor project finances, track expenses, and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Provide regular financial reports to stakeholders. 

  • Foster effective communication among team members and stakeholders. Prepare and deliver progress reports, project updates, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Evaluate and manage project changes, including scope variations, timeline adjustments, and resource reallocations. Assess the impact of changes on project objectives and communicate effectively with all parties involved. 

  • Conduct project evaluations upon completion, capturing lessons learned, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices for future projects. 

  • Identify new business opportunities with existing clients and pursue and win opportunities with new clients. In each case, take a leadership role in the pursuit process.  

  • Maintain client relationships during and after each project is finished to increase our opportunities for future work.  

 

 Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or Architectural Engineering; a Master’s degree in Engineering or Architecture is preferred. 

  • Over 15 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years of PM experience relating primarily to large-scale rail transit and / or facilities projects, including all phases of design and construction administration. 

  • Extensive skills and experience in property leasing arrangements including ability to successfully draft, negotiate, and execute facility agreements

  • Excellent understanding of design and construction, building systems/components and technology, contract administration, and project delivery methods. 

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Ability to develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets effectively. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Structural Engineering (SE) or Registered Architect (RA) or ability to obtain within six months.  

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

The expected salary for this position is $137,000- $167,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
