We are seeking a motivated Risk Manager to join the program delivery team for a high-profile transport infrastructure program in Los Angeles. This program is of national and international significance, supporting the city’s readiness for a global mega event. The Risk Manager will serve as the technical lead for risk management, working closely with project teams, program managers, and stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across multiple workstreams.
Job Duties:

Lead project teams in delivering risk management for large projects/programs, including development, implementation, and quality assurance of bespoke risk management methods, tools, and policies.

Develop and maintain the Risk Management Plan (RMP) and Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS).

Apply relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines pertaining to risk management, including ISO 31000.

Interface with clients, project managers, and design managers to integrate risk identification and control into wider project teams.

Provide multi-industry/domain expertise when coordinating risk management principles with Project Management and Project Controls disciplines.

Conduct both qualitative and quantitative risk assessments to support informed, evidence-based decision-making.

Deliver complex risk analytics for projects, portfolios, and programs.

Advise and guide clients and colleagues on risk management and mitigation principles to achieve practical solutions.

Support the development and embedding of technical excellence across the PPCM practice.

Contribute to the growth of Mott MacDonald’s risk management capability and support business development opportunities.
Candidate Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in risk management for large-scale infrastructure projects.

Proven ability to provide Board-level risk intelligence and support risk-based decisions with bespoke analytics.

Knowledge and use of risk analysis software such as @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA), Safran, Active Risk Manager (ARM), or similar. As well as approaches such as the Monte-Carlo risk analysis.

Familiarity with ISO 31000 risk management framework (highly preferred).

Ability to obtain PMI-RMP or RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional certification within 6–12 months of starting the role.

Strong background in managing quality and risk objectives.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to mentor junior staff and develop them as future leaders

At Mott MacDonald, we provide a comprehensive benefit package that includes 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, short-term/long-term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave and company paid life insurance.
The expected salary for this position is $169,000 - $207,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
