We are seeking a highly skilled and business-savvy Airport Business Advisor with a civil engineering background to support the airport advisory business.
This role requires expertise in airport business modelling (revenues, operational expenditure, capital expenditure, and maintenance costs), and a good mix of technical and financial experience, understanding both airport infrastructure development and business strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
Airport Business Advisory & Modelling
- Develop and analyse business models for airport revenues, operational expenditure (OPEX), capital expenditure (CAPEX), and maintenance costs.
- Support airport privatisation, public-private partnership (PPP), and concession structuring by assessing the business and operational impacts.
Airport Planning, Design & Operations
- Provide technical support and business advice on airport master planning, infrastructure design, and operational strategies.
- Collaborate with airport planners and engineers to ensure infrastructure investments align with business objectives and sustainability goals.
- Support airport expansion and modernisation projects, ensuring cost-effective and efficient designs.
- Provide insights on airside, terminal and landside operational efficiencies and solutions to cost savings
Lifecycle Cost Analysis & Maintenance Planning
- Support the development of maintenance and asset management strategies, ensuring long-term sustainability and cost efficiency.
- Support the planning capital investment cycles, including rehabilitation and expansion projects.
Other Responsibilities
- Work closely cross-functional teams, including planning, engineering etc.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues in their development
- Support business development by contributing to proposals, client presentations, and technical reports.
- Undertake client visits both domestically and abroad in support of project delivery and client relationship development and enhancement
Candidate specification:
We are looking for a flexible and motivated professional with experience and a genuine passion for the aviation industry.
To apply for this position, you must have the following:
- Experience in airport business advisory or airport technical advisory roles.
- A background in civil engineering, airport infrastructure, and business modelling or related field
- Professionally qualified as a Member of a recognised Engineering Institution such as the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent
- Experience in airport business modelling, feasibility studies, and lifecycle cost assessments
- Familiar with airport PPPs, concession models, and investment strategies
- Knowledge of airport operations, master planning, sustainability initiatives and regulatory frameworks
- Fluency in English – knowledge of other languages will be valued as an advantage.
You'll need to be able to travel and work overseas (sometimes at short notice) as required.
We are looking for candidates with the following characteristics:
- Experience in airport business planning.
- Proficiency in CAPEX, REPEX and OPEX forecasting, lifecycle cost analysis, and revenue modelling.
- Knowledge of airside, terminal and landside planning and operations.
- Analytical thinker with strategic problem-solving abilities, able to balance technical and financial considerations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, with experience in presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proactive and solutions-driven, with a focus on delivering financially and operationally viable airport solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and lead cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Advanced user of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
