Role Purpose:

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of safe, reliable, and sustainable infrastructure across sectors such as Oil & Gas, Power, Water, and other process industries.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Instrumentation & Control Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of engineering projects by contributing to high-quality design, documentation, coordination, and technical review activities. Your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing and understanding P&IDs and other project design documents to ensure instrumentation requirements are accurately captured.
Preparing key engineering deliverables such as:
Instrument Index and I/O List
Alarm and Trip Setting List
Cause and Effect Diagrams
Logic Diagrams
Material Take-Offs
Control and Safeguarding Narratives
Preparing technical specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations for:
Field instruments
Analysers
Control and ESD valves
Fire and Gas devices
Custody and allocation metering systems
Telecom systems including CCTV, ACS, PAGA, and FOC
Performing sizing, selection, and adequacy checks for flowmeters, control valves, and safety valves.
Preparing technical specifications, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations for control systems such as:
Distributed Control System
Safety PLC, SIS, and IPS
SCADA
Fire and Gas System
Machine Monitoring System
Participating in engineering workshops such as HAZOP, SIL studies, design reviews, and alarm rationalisation, and supporting the closeout of instrumentation-related actions.
Reviewing instrument and package vendor drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
Preparing cable schedules, JB schedules, instrument hook-ups, JB wiring details, Bill of Materials, and MTOs.
Supporting engineering activities for building-related systems such as fire alarm systems, VESDA systems, and instrumentation requirements for process and non-process areas including substations, control rooms, and buildings.
Contributing to telecommunication engineering deliverables covering CCTV, access control systems, public address systems, and fibre optic cable systems.
Liaising with technicians and designers to gather inputs for 3D models and layouts, ensuring design intent is correctly implemented.
Coordinating effectively with other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated and reliable solutions.
Participating in meetings and technical discussions with global lead offices, internal stakeholders, and end clients.

 

Candidate Specification

We are looking for someone who brings technical curiosity, a collaborative mindset, and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have:

Experience in instrumentation design within Oil & Gas, Power, Water, or other process industries.
Good understanding of design principles, engineering practices, and instrumentation deliverables.
Ability to provide cost-effective, practical, and technically sound solutions.
Familiarity with international standards, codes of practice, and industry guidelines.
Experience in brownfield or maintenance projects, which will be an added advantage.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and related tools.
Knowledge of software such as Instrucal and SPI / INtools, which will be an added advantage.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple project responsibilities.
Willingness to support senior team members in the implementation of weekly planned activities.
Interest in using technology and digital tools to develop innovative and efficient engineering solutions.
A self-motivated approach, with a strong desire to learn new skills, take ownership, and add value to the team and organisation.
