We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts and Quantity Surveying Engineer. The successful applicant will exhibit a keen enthusiasm for collaborating with our client teams to ensure the successful delivery of Water Infrastructure projects on schedule, within budget, and to high-quality standards, while upholding a strong commitment to safety. This exceptional opportunity provides the successful candidate with exposure to complex water infrastructure projects in the UK.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  •  Understanding the various forms of contract in NEC and its contract management requirements.
  • Supporting in preparation of tender and contract documents and participating in contract reviews relating to the contract
  • Contracts to be drafted properly in line with the standard clauses as defined in NEC contracts and make sure that the contract compliance requirements such as scope of work, insurances, payments, compensation events and programme submissions etc are adequately defined.
  • Provide support in the pre-contract tender process including tender assessment and queries and draft the contract award recommendation report.
  • Managing commercial inputs to the procurement process including ensuring that strategies are developed and agreed.
  • Preparation of contracts using NEC and detailed checklist for compliances
  • Supporting the Preparation of standard documentation – reports, letters, financial statement
  • Assist with quantity surveying tasks
  • Analysis of tenders and preparing tender reports
  • Good communication skills
  • Ownership of providing necessary contract documentation support, taking a proactive approach, providing solutions with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Proactive management of project, programme risk including ensuring that mitigation plans are in place and implemented.
  • Development of strong client relationships across its organisation.
  • Supporting on internal documentation related tasks, ensuring the trackers are updated and kept up to date

 

Experience required:

  • Engineering degree from any discipline
  • Knowledge of Quantity Surveying subjects desired
  • Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS or equivalent) preferred
  • Between 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in NEC or FIDIC contracts
  • Experience in UK market preferable
  • Cost X / Power BI / SharePoint experience /MS Office Suite
  • Experience in relevant sectors: Water and or infrastructure related development
  • Experience in data collection and analysis including presentation of relevant information in a suitable format
  • Proven skills and experience of delivering within a Design Consultancy
  • Experience in contract terminologies, administration and management.
  • Demonstrable understanding and practical application of the NEC forms of contract.
  • Pre-contract tendering experience on NEC contracts.
