About the business unit

The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.

Overview of the role

We – the Energy Unit, specifically the Nuclear, Defence and Civil division – are looking to recruit a Technical Consultant/Project Manager to join our team in the Netherlands. The role will cover a number of areas, including the growing nuclear sector in the Netherlands, current projects under construction in the Netherlands and Belgium, and opportunities to work on projects globally supporting our energy business across Europe and the UK. Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Contributing to consistent, high‑quality deliverables across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and client expectations
  • Advising developers, clients, and investors on project risks, progress, cost and schedule impacts, and strategic considerations
  • Coordinating and aligning multidisciplinary technical inputs to support programme decision-making
  • Supporting the development and monitoring of project execution strategies and project controls activities

  • Strong organisational awareness and stakeholder sensitivity
  • Solid project controls competencies; confident, resilient, and able to challenge where needed
  • Strong advisory skills and experience in technical consultancy
  • Ideally, demonstrable project management experience or a project management
  • A Master’s degree with a nuclear focus or a degree in an engineering / science subject
  • Postgraduate experience
  • Professional fluency in both Dutch and English
  • Team-working and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication skills appropriate for client-facing interactions as well as interactions with colleagues of various levels and disciplines
  • Commercial awareness
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
