About the role: 

The Communications Specialist for the North America region’s Marketing and Communications team is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of regional internal and engagement activities. Working closely with the wider Marketing and Communications team, key internal stakeholders, and the global Internal Communication (IC) team to implement IC plans and leverage key channels to effectively engage target audiences. As Communications Specialist, you will be involved in initiatives that are varied and of strategic importance. You will support the management of our internal communication channels, write and edit content for internal and external purposes, and support delivery of regional internal presentations, surveys, videos, and events. 

 

As a key member of our regional Marketing and Communications team, you will: 

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to advise on communication and engagement opportunities and requirements.  

  • Support the development and delivery of internal engagement and communication plans and campaigns, that incorporate multiple channels and audiences to meet business needs. 

  • Understand internal communication challenges and propose ideas and content to engage different audiences and maximize impact. 

  • Collaborate with regional marketing content team and internal stakeholders to coordinate content for internal and external promotion. 

  • Write and edit clear, informative, and engaging content for different content mediums (e.g. written, verbal, video)  

  • Proofread and refine content to ensure quality and brand consistency. 

  • Coordinate and support delivery of regional internal presentations, surveys, videos, and events (webinars, internal awards, forums, etc.). 

  • Maintain a communications tracker to log internal deliverables, manage necessary approvals, and ensure timely execution. 

  • Monitor metrics and data to a) assess the impact of internal communications activities, b) identify opportunities for improvement, and c) adjust internal channel and content strategy accordingly 

  • Be a brand champion; ensure all materials align with our brand guidelines and tone of voice. 

  • Support the management and optimization of all internal communication channels and tools, including company email distribution platform and intranet.  

  • Maintain a regional internal communications calendar to ensure consistent messaging and avoid overlap or saturation. 

 

About you - Academic, professional qualifications, skills and experience: 

  • Proven experience in a communcations, marketing, or related role.  

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including storytelling and presentation abilities. 

  • Communicate proactively and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. 

  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks with multiple stakeholders simultaneously. 

  • Self-starting and resourceful with the confidence and ability to undertake tasks and see them through to completion with minimal guidance. 

  • Strong attention to detail; able to deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines. 

  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities, timelines, and business needs. 

  • Strategic and analytical high levels of critical thinking and connects the dots to see the bigger picture. 

  • Able to collect, analyze, and present data clearly that shows the measure of impact and areas for improvement. 

  • Proficient in collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and intranet content management systems.  

  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). 

  • Interest in learning and applying new technologies, including AI. 

 

Desired Skills & Experience 

  • University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, or a related field.  

  • Familiarity with the engineering and consultancy industries. 

  • Experience in data analysis, reporting, and deriving insights from metrics. 

  • Knowledge of internal communication best practices and trends. 

  • Basic design skills or familiarity with brand guidelines.
