About the role
Our placements last for 12 months, working across both design and construction teams, to offer the broadest exposure to the industry, working on real-world projects that make a difference in communities. It’s a great chance to get involved with live projects while gaining experience relevant to your degree.
What you’ll do

Assist in the planning, design, construction, commissioning, handover and completion of projects

Assist the Project Leader (Designer) with preparation of design, technical drawings and other documentation in line with company processes, procedures and contract requirements.

Assist the Site Engineer with setting out line & level of structures and pipework in line with construction drawings using a variety of surveying equipment (GPS, total station, dumpy Level, pipe laser)

Assist the Site Engineer with carrying out the required quality assurance and completing ITR's (Inspection and test records) in line with company procedures.

Assist the Site Manager & Site Engineer with supervising safety, health & environment on site in line with company standards and procedures.

Assist the Site Manager & Site Engineer with day-to-day running of the site including requisition of materials and plant and processing of delivery tickets

Liaise with designers, support teams and supply chains

Assist the Site Engineer with producing as-built surveys and records.

Assist the Project Leader (Designer) with compiling completion documentation in line with the client completion process.
What you’ll need

You must be studying a full-time undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.

Have a basic understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.

Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

A valid driving license and use of a car is essential

Willingness and flexibility to travel to sites across your operational region

Mott MacDonald Bentley is a joint venture business, established in 1999 between civil engineering contractor JN Bentley and global management consultancy, Mott MacDonald.
Mott MacDonald Bentley offers fully integrated design and build services to its clients, combining the contracting expertise of JN Bentley and the design specialisms of Mott MacDonald.
This role is employed by Mott MacDonald but will involve working across the joint venture business, both with Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley colleagues.
