Job Location- Bangalore/Noida
Responsibilities:
- Formulating the scope of work, methodology and associate programme/budget to support bids.
- Complete assigned tasks in accordance with quality, timescales, and budgeted hours.
- Prepare and/or review technical reports, feasibility studies, and option selection reports.
- Undertake and/or supervise power system modelling work (using ETAP and TRAIN, Mott MacDonald’s multi-train simulator).
- Prepare and/or review outline and detailed designs for AC and DC electrification schemes, including distribution and electrical track equipment.
- Undertake/review earthing & bonding and protection studies.
- Provide input to other disciplines, including civils, SCADA LV Power, signalling and systems assurance, etc.
- Development of functional concept design, development and review of technical solutions, specifications, cost estimates.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Mott MacDonald's quality standard procedures.
- Interface with clients (prepare and give presentations, chair meetings, etc).
- Provide supervision and mentoring, identifying opportunities for professional development and progression along with specific line management responsibilities for designated direct reports.
- Ensure all health, safety and welfare practices are adhered to.
- Foster a culture of right first-time delivery and work with Project Managers/Principals to ensure effective project delivery.
Candidate Specification:
We are looking for flexible and motivated professional with a genuine passion and a desire to make a difference in the world. The candidate must be organised, with very good time management and communication skills.
Essential competencies/skills:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Electrical Engineering
- 12 -15 years’ experience in electrical engineering or equivalent in the rail industry
- Experience in Electric track equipment design
- Experience in substation design (AC and DC)
- Experience in the development of electrical protection
- Experience in HV and LV cable route design
- Experience with traction load flow modelling software and power system studies, and/or experience with EMC
- IT skills: proficiency in usage of ETAP modelling software or similar, TRAIN simulation software or similar, BIM and associated CAD software package (AutoCAD, Bentley Open Buildings and MicroStation).
- Competent in using standard office software to produce well-presented, coherent professional documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills supporting collaborative working with colleagues.
- Have a strong attention to detail, as well as having a logical but creative approach to problem solving.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in traction power engineering / EMC within a rail consultancy business
- Experience in leading/coordinating the delivery of packages of work.
- Experience in project/contract management
- Appreciation of environmental issues associated with rail engineering works;
- Good working knowledge and demonstrable experience of Network Rail and Transport for London projects
- MATLAB, ETAP, C++ coding, Python
- Achieved or working towards Chartership
