Job Description:
We are to recruit an enthusiastic, imaginative and committed person to join our growing, world-class rail business as a System Assurance Engineer. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career while helping shape our emerging System Assurance team in India. Key Responsibilities:
As a Systems Assurance Engineer, you will work alongside experienced professionals within multi-disciplinary teams and will gain experience of using industry standard toolsets on a range of challenging and dynamic projects. You need to able to build and maintain strong relationships with both your colleagues and external clients through excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’ll provide technical guidance within your team while developing your skills and capabilities through our development and training programs.
As a Systems Assurance Engineer, you will work alongside experienced professionals within multidisciplinary teams supporting the delivery of Safety Assurance, RAMS and Systems Engineering activities on major rail and infrastructure projects.
The role is varied and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Inputting into all stages of track projects from conception through to completion, ensuring client Complete assigned tasks in accordance with quality, timescales, and budgeted hours set by the team lead.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives to develop design solutions that meet client requirements and regulatory standards.

Comply with industry standards and safety regulations.

Development of development and review of technical solutions, specifications.

Ability to work as part of a team is a must with ability to work unsupervised or minimum supervision.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Mott MacDonald's quality standard procedures.

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and new technologies.

Support the delivery of Safety Assurance, RAMS and Systems Engineering activities in accordance with project quality, programme and budget requirements.

Assist with the development of Safety Assurance Plans, Hazard Records, Requirements Specifications, Verification & Validation documentation and other technical deliverables.

Support hazard identification, risk assessment and safety assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
-
Assist with the derivation, management and traceability of safety and system requirements.
-
Prepare technical reports, presentations and assurance documentation to a high professional standard.
-
Support the planning, preparation and delivery of workshops covering areas such as requirements management, hazard identification and risk management.
-
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the development, assurance and acceptance of complex engineering systems.
-
Participate in client, stakeholder and project meetings and contribute to technical discussions and problem solving activities.

Support verification, validation and technical assurance activities to demonstrate compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations and emerging technologies relevant to Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance.

Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with Mott MacDonald's quality management procedures and project governance requirements.
Depending on the project, your role may include:
-
Document Preparation: Preparing technical reports, assurance documentation, safety management plans, hazard logs/hazard records and other SE&A deliverables throughout the project lifecycle. Strong written communication skills, attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential.

Workshop Support and Facilitation: Supporting the preparation, delivery and follow-up of workshops covering areas such as requirements management, hazard identification, risk assessment and safety assurance. This may include analysis of workshop outputs and preparation of associated documentation.

Multidisciplinary Engagement: Working closely with engineers, architects, designers and project managers from a range of disciplines including civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, communications, fire and operational teams. Opportunities may also arise to support technical coordination and interface management activities.

Client and Stakeholder Interaction: Participating in meetings with clients, operators, assessors and delivery partners, contributing to technical discussions and supporting the development of assurance evidence and project deliverables.
Throughout your development, you will gain experience applying industry-recognised standards, processes and tools whilst building your technical, communication and stakeholder management skills through project delivery and structured training.

Academic, professional qualifications and experience:

Graduate/Postgraduate in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years’ experience in System Assurance.
With understanding of Systems Engineering, the V-Model and associated processes/lifecycles (e.g. ISO15288) along with experience in one or more of the key service areas.

Membership of a recognised professional institution (e.g. INCOSE, IET, IMechE, IChemE, IRSE or similar) or working towards professional registration.
Essential Skills and Experience:

Degree qualified in an engineering, science or related technical discipline (e.g. Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Software, Chemical, Process, Nuclear or similar).

Typically, 4–7 years' experience in Systems Engineering, Safety Assurance, RAMS, Functional Safety or related disciplines.
-
Experience working within regulated industry sectors such as rail, transit, infrastructure, defence, nuclear, aerospace or energy would be advantageous.

Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes and assurance activities, including requirements management, hazard management, verification and validation, safety assurance or RAMS.

Knowledge of RAMS concepts.

Experience with one or more of the following would be desirable:

IBM DOORS Classic/NG or similar,

Sparx Enterprise Architect,

Isograph Availability Workbench.

Competent in using standard office software to produce well-presented, coherent professional documentation.
