We are looking to appoint a leader for our aviation activities in our North American region, to provide focus on the development of our business with aviation clients across the region, and to support wider cross regional collaboration. The successful candidate will lead the development and delivery of aviation in the region that draws on the breadth of capabilities across our operations to deliver sustainable growth.

Overview of the role
Mott MacDonald is a global aviation consultancy, helping clients plan, design, deliver and transform airports for the future. Our services range from specialist advice to major program delivery.

Our aviation work draws on expertise from across Mott MacDonald. The aviation leader will bring these capabilities together into a clear, coordinated offer for clients.

North America offers significant growth potential. This role will help deliver that growth, supported by regional and group leadership investment.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

Market leadership

  • Define the regional aviation value proposition with the global aviation leader.
  • Lead a coordinated cross-unit aviation market team across North America.
  • Set and deliver the regional aviation growth strategy.

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new aviation opportunities across the full-service portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Represent Mott MacDonald externally to strengthen our aviation profile.

Account Leadership:

  • Support key aviation account planning, client director appointments and performance measures.
  • Help client teams build strong senior relationships
  • Lead new client development and maintain oversight of the regional aviation client portfolio.
  • Guide capture planning, pre-positioning and bidding to convert opportunities into projects.

Project Delivery:

  • Provide strategic direction for aviation project and program delivery.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, partners and internal teams.
  • Provide project and / or technical leadership on selected aviation projects

 Technical excellence:

  • Promote technical excellence across regional aviation work.
  • Help identify the capabilities and personnel needed for current and future aviation services.
  • Mentor and coach colleagues within the aviation community.

Candidate specification
We are looking for a motivated aviation leader with strong sector experience, senior client relationships and the ability to bring teams together across Mott MacDonald.

 Essential:

  • Recognized leader in the North American aviation sector, with a strong delivery record and senior client relationships.
  • Able to lead, influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Proven ability to develop senior client relationships and win new work.
  • Experience leading consultancy services in aviation, including advisory, planning, design, delivery or transformation.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant degree and professional qualification
  • Active external profile.

To deliver this role you will be required to travel regularly
